Published by Hodder and funded by Microsoft and the DfE, CAS has produced a free toolkit for teachers. The QuickStart Computing CPD toolkit is designed to help deliver inspiring computing lessons in primary and secondary schools.
The tookits (one for primary teachers and the other for secondary) pull together resources from leading experts in the field, and are designed to be ‘everything you need to know’ to deliver inspirational lessons.
The Digital Schoolhouse has gotten off to an explosive start this year. Since the Digital Schoolhouses opened their doors less than a month ago, we have already worked with approx. 500 pupils and have run over 17 workshops so far. Initial confirmed bookings are indicating that by the end of November approximately 1000 pupils or more will have walked through our doors and left feeling inspired. Initial feedback from schools has been highly positive, and primary schools are already booking return visits for their pupils.
Thursday 25th September saw the launch of the Digital Schoolhouse project at Ukie’s AGM held at the EGX Expo in Earls Court. This date also saw the preview of the new Digital Schoolhouse website and Facebook page.
Pilot sessions have already been running in our Digital Schoolhouses and bookings are beginning to flood in, with some schools already almost fully booked for the next few months.
