Our inaugural Digital Schoolhouse eSports Tournament kicked off in January with approx. 400 students taking part from four different Digital Schoolhouses across the country. Our first regional finalists to be announced were team LAT from Shire Oak Academy. They will be joined by three other teams representing Gilredge House School, St John Fisher Catholic Voluntary Academy and New College.
Games engage and excite students in a way that few other topics can. It's why so many teachers ensure that games development is attempted at least once during each key stage. Using the medium of games we can bring together all the different strands of computing and combine it with artistic creativity and fun.

The Educated Bananas, Slumdog Mignolet & the Archbishops of Banterbury are just some of the teams competing in this year’s Digital Schoolhouse eSports tournament.
We're absolutely thrilled to announce that we have been shortlisted as a finalist for the next BETT Awards under their 'ICT Innovator of the Year' category.
Our initial funding from the Mayor of London’s, London Schools Excellence Fund enabled us to deliver a London-based programme of activity that supported 9,000 pupils and 1,000 teachers across 127 schools. 100% of participating teachers both running and attending workshops said that they improved knowledge and confidence in teaching computing, and schools reported that Digital Schoolhouse workshops significantly raised educational attainment amongst participating children – equally across boys and girls.
The Highgate Wood Digital Schoolhouse has for the past five months been working with their feeder schools on the Apps for Good programme. The Apps for Good programme involves pupils working as part of a team to devise an idea for a mobile application that solves a problem. The programme develops pupils business, enterprise, and ICT and computer science skills.
The Big Bang fair will be taking place from Wednesday 16th March to Saturday 19th March this year. It is the UK's largest celebration of STEM subjects, and the Digital Schoolhouse is proud to announce its support and presence at the show.
We're incredibly excited about the four day event, and look forward to representing the Computing and Tech industries with an amazing lineup of speakers and presenters across the four days.
